Signed Presidential Appointment, Personal Check & Vintage Autograph

DS as president, one page, 16.5 x 12, February 18, 1903. President Roosevelt appoints a gentleman to the post of Marshall for the Southern District of Ohio, signed at the bottom in fountain pen by Roosevelt. In fair condition, with hastily repaired diagonal tear through portion of text and first letter of signature, scattered creasing, spotting and soiling, partial seal and some faded text.

In the 1860s Dr. Ridgway (sometimes spelled as Ridgeway) started collecting autographs and started his autograph book, he passed the book onto his heirs including someone named Tonit or Jonita Ridgeway martin who continued to collect the book. This is an exceptional piece from that autograph book.
