Autographed Palm Springs
Biltmore cocktail napkin signed by Frank Sinatra
Provenance behind the authentic signed Frank Sinatra
napkin is as follows:
"I will try a short version
of the story behind the napkin--I am selling it for a friend who worked
at the hotel back in the late 1950's. Frank and his band showed up at
the hotel bar one night and my friend was having drinks with another
girlfriend. Frank's manager first came up and offered to buy them a
drink, but they didn't know who he was and they refused. Again, Frank's
manager asked to buy a drink but they refused. The bartender then told
the girls who he was and a third time, Frank's manager came over but
this time he said Frank wanted to invite them to have a drink with him
at his table. They accepted, went to his table, had a drink and then
Frank asked them to a party, which they declined. Frank offered his
autograph and he wrote one for each of the two'
event occured at the Palm Springs Biltmore Hotel, in California at the
hotel bar in 1957.'
The napkin signature is in pencil and reads
Signature is a little light but a great Authentic piece
of Hollywood history.
